International Women’s Day 2009

Today is International Women’s Day.  I didn’t realize it until it was almost over, but I still have time to sneak in a shout-out to other moms:

  • who advocate for their children’s needs
  • who return to work and show their kids that women can and should play a variety of roles in society
  • who stay home and put their own careers on hold to focus on their families
  • who work long hours to provide for their families
  • who help their little girls aspire to be more than princesses
  • who stand up for their own rights and show their little girls how it’s done
  • who read with their children
  • who support their husbands’ rights to parent
  • who know how to ask for help
  • who tell their children they love them and are proud of them
  • who vote and advocate for women’s rights
  • who honor our ancestor’s sacrifices
