I learned that the extra protection in Air Protect comes in the form of sophisticated air cushions on either side of the child’s head. This is an awesome carseat-thanks for the chance to win!

The Air Protect “cushions” act like pillows. This would have been wonderful to have for my children. Their heads always slumped over.

New technology that protects child from side impact as well as all other aspects a child safety seat should. I wish someone would have made these years ago.

Thank you for the chance to win, we could really use it soon! :)

When I read that the government currently has no regulations on testing car seats for side impact collisions, I was stunned! And to find out that they cause 1/3 of all deaths involving collisions, I was even more suprised.

Finally they made something that can actually protect the baby from all sides. Soon we will be having our first baby and I was concerned with most car seats and how it was able to protect baby 100% from an accident but this one is the best I have found so far and the price is fair and reasonable, it is worth it for the safety for anyone’s child.

Air Protect cushions increase the “ride down” time during a side impact. Increasing the time would, therefore, increase the time the child’s body would respond to the force, meaning less force injury.

I learned that it can go rear facing till 40lbs which is awesome! And that the special foam around the head allows air to pass through, if a child were to be in an accident the it would absorb enough force to help the head come to a slower and safer stop

    I learned that:
Through the precise release of air, Air Protect™ shields children from side impact intrusion and immediately reduces crash forces at the most critical spot: around a child’s head. Air Protect™ does this by extending ride-down, the amount of time it takes to slow a child’s movement in a crash.

The cushions to the sides of the child’s head are made of a foam that allows the air to go through which then makes the child’s head not bounce around as it normally would in a collision. It “cradles” their head to lower the risk of severe head injuries.

I learned that you are pretty happy with it, but not exstatic, which makes for a seemingly more honest review. Our first baby is coming in a month, but I’m certainly no stranger to car seats. The fact that you mentioned that its a bit smaller than other seats is actually, in my opinion, a good thing. I have had difficulty installing some of the larger ones in my small car (Focus Hatchback).

From the technical standpoint, I’m actually suprised at the amount of science that went into designing this car seat. It seems like too often, manufacturers do what they think might possibly maybe be better without actually looking at the truth behind it or simply make something that looks better or is slightly easier to use without improving the actual function of the seat.

Enough of my ramblings. Thanks for the contest!

car seat manufacturers are one step ahead of the game and have been working technology to protect our children in the event of a side impact collision, particularly in the case where a larger (higher) vehicle crashes into a smaller one
