Annie Comes to Boston [Giveaway]

annieI love musicals. I grew up in the kind of family that burst into song at the slightest provocation. It’s what we do. As a young girl, Annie was one of my favorites. Not only is the story and music age appropriate, but the idea that your fate could suddenly shift on a dime and catapult you into the life you’ve dreamed of… well, that’s pretty magical. I’m not the only one who was captivated by the tale, either, so it was fairly easy to pull together a willing cast of characters for our 5th grade production of The Songs from Annie. For the record, this wasn’t a school production, per se. It was a bunch of kids who loved the show so much that we had to share it with others. I directed and “produced” it (I was always a go-getter, even at that age!) and we somehow convinced our principal to require the entire school to attend. We even charged admission. Note: If you have enough quarters, you can buy your whole cast an ice cream cone when all is said and done. A year or so ago, my in-laws asked to take my kids to see a production Annie. And while I readily agreed, I was pretty disappointed that someone else was going to share that first experience with them. Still, I was glad they got to go and my daughter was definitely bitten by the Annie bug. Just this weekend, she and a friend performed It’s the Hard-knock Life together in the bounce house we had rented for Bug’s birthday party. It’s fun to see it pass along to the next generation.

Now, Annie is coming to the Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre in Boston and I have been offered tickets to opening night. Crazy, right? Not only that, but I’ve got 4 tickets to give away to some OTHER lucky family! And a discount code. We can all enjoy the magic together. In fact, these tickets are for opening night where Annie and Daddy Warbucks arrive (at 6pm!) in a 1937 Packard to wall the Red Carpet together into the building. So glam.
