The Truth About Gorilla Glass: A Lesson in Vanity
When I first saw the HTC Droid DNA at CES this past January, I immediately fell in love. It has such a lovely screen that everything looks lovely on it. It’s got plenty of other great features, but I can’t even get past its looks. I would watch a movie on my Droid DNA, and I’m not even joking. Through my role as a Verizon Wireless Insider, I received a Droid DNA for review and I was a very happy camper. Even though I felt a bit like I was cheating on my Droid Razr Maxx, I just couldn’t put my DNA down. In fact, I couldn’t stop talking about it and showing it to people. It’s just that wonderful.
Disney’s Club Penguin Experiences a Star Wars Takeover
This is just brilliant. Penguins in Star Wars costumes? Jedi Master training? Star Wars mini-games? Head on over to Club Penguin to help defeat Darth Herbert and save Club Penguin Island and the galaxy at large. Don’t delay, though, because the Star Wars Takeover event will end in mid-August.
App Review: The Book of Holes
I love a quirky app. Why be boring? The Book of Holes by Poul Lange fits the bill. This interactive e-book from Chocolate Factory Publishing is strange and beautiful and silly and fun.
Harvard Sweet Boutique Gift Box Review
I pretty much never say no when someone asks if I want to review cookies and/or brownies. I love them. And, as much as I enjoy baking my own, I’m equally delighted to try someone else’s creations. So, of course, when Harvard Sweet Boutique said they wanted to send me some treats, I was all
S’mores Cookie Recipe from Ocean Edge Resort
S’mores cookies. What more do I need to say?
Summer Tastings at Bruegger’s Bagels
Earlier this year I posted about my tour of Bruegger’s Bagels. It turns out that my cousin is the manager of one of the local stores. Who knew? Anyway, when I was asked to check out their summer menu, I certainly wasn’t going to say no. But the stores aren’t really all that convenient to
3 Mellow PS3 Games for Chillin’ This Summer
When most non-gamers hear “video games,” they usually think of titles like Halo, Grand Theft Auto, and World of Warcraft. Maybe they think of casual games such as those found on Facebook or mobile devices. The truth is that there are some great PS3 games where no one is shooting at you and that progress
Milking the Cow, or Swimming with Whale Sharks in Cancun
I “worry” about everything. Not in big, dramatic ways, but in smaller, “What if?” and “How can I plan ahead?” sort of ways. The strange part about that is that it’s mostly a social sort of worrying. When I went ziplining, I wasn’t at all concerned about falling to my death. Instead, I was concerned
Traveling the Maine Coast on Amtrak’s Downeaster
I’m a big fan of train travel. I find it to be a relaxing way to get to your destination. You don’t have to worry about traffic, security lines, tolls, or checked luggage. You can move about freely, the bathrooms are roomy, and you can get a hot meal, cold beverage or snacks in the
Nut-Free Snacking with Skeeter Snacks
I made the mistake of leaving my box of Skeeter Snacks (sent to us for review purposes) in a box on the counter. While I wasn’t looking, the kids stole and ate almost all of the samples. This says more than the most eloquent review I could write. First of all, the kids remembered past
