When Android Isn’t Just Android
So you know that I’m a member of the Verizon Wireless #VZWBuzz team and, as such, I regular get to try out new offerings from the Verizon Wireless store, including new phones. I was using a Motorola Droid Mini for quite some time and was starting to take my favorite features for granted when the HTC One Remix arrived. They are both Android phones so you might think the transition between them would be an easy one. You would be wrong.
Moon Palace Golf Resort and Spa, Cancun, Mexico – Review
Last summer, I had the chance to visit the Moon Palace Golf Resort and Spa in Cancun as part of a press trip. I shared the story of swimming with whale sharks, but my post about the resort ended up on Family Travel Magazine. I think about this trip often, partially because it was such
Catch All of the Fall TV Premieres with TiVo Roamio
I have failed you. I have been blissfully enjoying my TiVo Roamio and not at all letting you in on the game. Maybe I’ve been enjoying it a little too much. In any case, I received a TiVo Roamio as a TiVo Brand Ambassador. By now, you probably know how cool it is… either 4 or 6 tuners, and lots of recording space. You can watch your many of your shows on the road. In this case, the Fall Television Collection.
Mabel’s Labels Puts Lost & Found Out of Business (Review & Giveaway)
Back to school means a lot of new things… lunch boxes and backpacks and shoes and outfits. With young kids, every single thing needs to be labeled. Even if you think they can’t possibly lose a shoe, you are likely to be surprised by what your kids manage to leave behind. Mabel’s Labels intends to
Grab the Goodies to Educate About Underage Alcohol Consumption (Review)
As part of the back to school season, I’m on the lookout for tech and tools to help families have a healthy and productive school year. When the Foundation for Advancing Alcohol Responsibility (FAAR) asked me to take a look at a new educational app designed to help kids ages 6-9 learn about the dangers of underage alcohol consumption, I knew it was a great match. It’s hard to know when and how to start talking to your kids about alcohol Grab the Goodies is meant to help you kick start the conversation and get kids thinking about making healthy choices.
Verizon Educational Tools & a Fun Twitter Party
It’s not easy finding educational apps for your kids. The app stores are chock-full of choices, but which ones are quality? Which ones aren’t? Verizon set out to help its customers make choices with Verizon Educational Tools. The app includes reviews on a wide range of educational app and video options, as rated by educators an parents. They are broken down by grade, subject, and Common Core standards. There are also special offers and discounts for Verizon customers.
Happy Back to School!
By now, most of us are back to school… I think a few stragglers start this week. I have mixed feelings as the school year begins. I had an especially nice summer with my kids, so it’s a bit hard to go back to early mornings and less time as a family. We’ll just have
