Back to School Shopping with Crocs Playground-Friendly Shoes

Thank you to Crocs for sponsoring this blog post. Please to learn more about Crocs’ new Back to School line. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective. All opinions expressed here are my own.

We haven’t done a lot of back-to-school shopping  recently. Bug started Kindergarten this year, so it’s the first time we’ve really done the fall “back-to-school” thing. For the past couple of summers, the kids have stayed in school two days a week year-round. There’s been a transition, but it hasn’t been anything like this.

Shopping is a mixed experience around here anyway. The kids are young enough that I can just shop without them, which certainly helps, but it can still be overwhelming and my husband finds the bill stressful no matter what kind of bargains I get. If clothes are a challenge, though, shoes are a pain in the neck. I can never remember what size the kids are and their feet grow in crazy spurts, so that they often skip sizes entirely. Moreover, they need sneakers for gym, dressier shoes for outings, and they favor sandals, flip flops, or Crocs for comfort.

Unfortunately, both the preschool and Kindergarten frown on the shoes the kids find most comfortable. They fall off too easily, wood chips can get inside, and so on. Crocs has been listening, and they recently launched their Back to School kids’ line. Designed for kids in Kindergarten through 8th grade, the shoes are close-toed and close-heeled, so they eliminate the issues above. They are the same design inside, so kids can still enjoy the comfort they prefer. Better still, I think are cute and appropriate for outdoor play as well as slightly dressier outfits when you don’t want a grungy sneaker look. I love the tag line, which is “School on the outside. Summer on the inside.”

Hover Slip On for BoysWe were offered a review pair of shoes from Crocs and I let Bug pick out his favorites. He chose these Hover Slip Ons. They are a bit big for him, but I think they’ll look equally good with jeans and a t-shirt and khakis with a polo shirt. The material feels like it will be easier to wash off than their sneakers, which is great because wood chips and sand do a number on kids’ shoes!

The Crocs Back-to-School line has a nice variety and there are also sneaker styles, and some adorable shoes for girls. If you’d like to see the whole line, you can check out this interactive video or . See if you can find the Easter Egg in the video. It’s definitely worth it if you want to save a little in your back-to-school shopping. I’ll give you a hint… it’s got feathers!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post. In addition to the compensation, we received a pair of Crocs Back-to-School shoes for review. There was no promise of a positive review and the opinions contained in this post are my own.
