Peapod Announces Pick-Up Service and Celebrates a Birthday (plus a giveaway!)

Peapod-Pick-Up-Storage-and-AttendantI am always excited when a good service or product becomes even better. It was nearly 5 years ago that I first wrote about Peapod, the food home delivery service. I talked about how the warehouses work, as well as some feedback on the Peapod experience. While we don’t order groceries all the time, I still find it useful for weeks when I’m not feeling well or have too much going on. Something that hasn’t changed, though, is the challenge of finding a window for delivery when I know I’ll be home and free to receive groceries. Peapod knows that’s a challenge, so they have announced Pick-Up Service. You shop with Peapod as normal and then choose a one-hour Pick-Up window at your local store instead of a (longer) Delivery Window. Swing by the store, pull up to the Pick-Up area, and they will load your car with groceries. You can use your coupons and you’ll still earn your gas rewards and A+ School Points, just like shopping in-store. Best of all, for a limited time, the service is free!

Some of my favorite parts about shopping via Peapod:

  • I can shop on the go with their mobile app.
  • I can shop from a list of items I’ve purchased in the past, both via Peapod and in-store.
  • I can filter for products that are nut-free (as well as other nutritional filters).
  • I can quickly see everything that is on sale.
  • I can either search for something specific or browse the aisles, just like I do in the store.
  • I can shop in the middle of the night.
  • I can save my cart and finish later.

You may not realize this, but Peapod is 25 years old! In honor of Peapod’s 25th anniversary and of their new Pick-Up service, I’ve got an opportunity for you to try it out for yourself with a $50 gift card. Please take a moment to visit Peapod.com and see if they deliver or have pick-up service in your area (gift card can also be used at Stop & Shop, Giant, and Martin’s Food Markets). When you’re ready to enter, c’mon back and leave a comment below telling me your least favorite thing about food shopping in store. Don’t forget to fill out the Rafflecopter widget to be eligible to win!

Disclosure: We received a free shopping experience (groceries) with Peapod’s Pick-up service, as well as some additional groceries. There was no additional compensation or promise of a positive review, and the opinions contained in this post are my own.

  1. I don’t like when i can’t find something. I wish they had an in store app too where I could enter the product into my phone and it told me the aisle/section.

  2. I would love this. I alway’s wait until we are almost out of everything because I hate grocery shopping so much. Shopping for 5 we go thru a ton of groceries and I am stuck doing myself which I hate.

  3. I can’t stand the crowds especially with the carts. It’s hard to maneuver at times through the aisles.

  4. I don’t like how hard it is to find simple products at times even with the signs telling you what each aisle contains.
