We have a crazy cat. She’s getting older now and sleeps more often than not, but every once and awhile, she zips through the house, leaping on furniture and terrorizing unsuspecting nappers. When she was younger, she used to steal things. We couldn’t leave anything out on the counters or it would disappear. One time, she stole a 5 lb bag of candy (intended for Halloween) from the top of the refrigerator. I would love to take a peek into her mind to know what’s going on in there. That’s probably why The Secret Life of Pets holds so much allure for me and my kids and why we jumped on the chance to nab a complimentary copy to check out. Who isn’t just a bit curious about what goes on with their pets when no one is looking?
THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS
Synopsis: In their fifth fully animated feature-film collaboration, Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures present The Secret Life of Pets, a comedy about the lives our pets lead when we leave for work or school. Max, voiced by Louis C.K., is a loyal terrier living a perfectly happy existence until his owner, Katie (Ellie Kemper) brings home Duke (Eric Stonestreet) a big, boisterous mutt she finds at the shelter. When Max and his unruly new “roommate” slip away from their dog-walker, they find themselves lost in the urban jungle of New York City. In an attempt to stay ahead of animal control and a rebel band of abandoned pets led by an unhinged bunny named Snowball (Kevin Hart), they put aside their differences to survive the epic journey back home.
We actually missed The Secret Life of Pets when it was out in the theaters. We had been watching the previews for nearly a year before it came out and then life got crazy and we missed our opportunity. Thankfully, the DVD comes out on December 6 and we’ll get a second chance! Not only that, but we have TEN Blu-Rays to share with you, in case you need a second chance. Better yet, in case you loved, loved, loved it and can’t wait to see it again. It would also make a fun Christmas or Hanukkah gift…
