Verizon Innovative App Challenge Asks Kids to Dream Big

0144The Verizon Foundation has just announced the 2015 Innovative App Challenge. Middle and high school students are invited to form teams of 5-7 students with a faculty advisor and to dream up an app concept in one of three areas: Education, Healthcare, or Sustainability. Teams will submit their concepts online via video and essay questions. Twenty-four regional winning schools will receive $5,000 cash grants, plus support in making their apps a reality. Of those schools, 8 will win the top prize of an additional $15,000 cash grant and Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets for each of the students.
