Quirky Tech
Quirky-Tech is a tech blog geared toward parents and families. We’re not going to give you benchmarks and speed tests. Instead, we’ll provide parent-friendly advice on great gadgets, video games, apps, and how to navigate our tech-centric culture. This is the information we share with family and friends, and now we’re sharing it with you. It’s fun, it’s informative and, above all, it’s honest.
About Christy
Christy Matte is a freelance writer, consultant and blogger residing in the Boston area with her husband, two young kids and a crazy cat. Christywas a techie long before it was cool. She’s always loved computers, gadgets, video games and all manner of geekery.
Christy graduated with an undergraduate degree in Anthropology and a minor in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, after also doing time at the uber-geeky Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. She went on to obtain a M.Ed. in Technology in Education from Lesley University. Since then, all of her professional experience has revolved around her passions: technology, non-profits and education. Christy has worked with adults and young people around the world, helping them learn how to turn their ideas into action through the use of technology. After the birth of her own kids, Christy turned to writing as a way to continue to help others. Finally, after four years with About.com as the Guide to Family Computing, Christy launched Quirky Tech so she could have the freedom to do it her way.
In addition to her blogs, Quirky Tech, Quirky Fusion, and More than Mommy, Christy writes regularly for Common Sense Media and CBS Boston. She speaks on topics related to blogging, social media, Internet safety, and family technology.
