Mabel’s Labels Puts Lost & Found Out of Business (Review & Giveaway)
Back to school means a lot of new things… lunch boxes and backpacks and shoes and outfits. With young kids, every single thing needs to be labeled. Even if you think they can’t possibly lose a shoe, you are likely to be surprised by what your kids manage to leave behind. Mabel’s Labels intends to make it easier for parents and to help put those Lost and Found Boxes out of business. They sent us their Ultimate Back to School Combo for review and they’re going to give one to a lucky reader as well.
The Ultimate Back to School Combo comes with 40 Skinny-Minis, which are little tags for just about anything. They are microwave and dishwasher safe, making them perfect for water bottles, lunch boxes, and thermoses. They’re also great for pencil cases, scissors, books, folders, and any other hard item you want to keep track of. The 50 Tag Mates are designed to be stuck on clothing care tags. They are washer and dryer safe and we especially love them for jackets and sweaters. With all the washing we’ve done over the past couple of weeks, the labels still look as good as new. The Shoe labels (16) are, as you’d expect, meant to be stuck inside of shoes. They are waterproof and UV resistant. I wasn’t joking about losing shoes, by the way. We will be extra thankful for the Shoe Labels in boot weather when the kids have to tote sneakers back and forth on gym days. The Combo also includes two Teeny Tags. These are small metal tags that are great for hanging from backpacks, gym bags, and the like.
LadyBug went onto the Mabel’s Labels site with me to customize her tags. There’s a simple label designer where you can choose either solid or multicolor pictures. There are more than 50 image options for this set including ice skates, a cupcake, a skull and crossbones, a whale, a dinosaur, a pirate ship, a butterfly, and a fish. For older kids, the Stylish Scholars Combo replaces the cute designs with trendy patterns like chevrons, camouflage, and polka dot confetti. The Ultimate Combo has a few color choices for each design, while the Scholars Combo offers two different fonts. We enjoyed making her labels and she was really happy with them when they showed up.
The end results are glossy, bright, bold, and colorful (I have used a sample image above because hers obviously has her name on them!). We’ve had no problems with labels failing and I’m pretty thankful for the Skinny-Minis because the labels we were using previously have been fading (or perhaps washing off) over time. These still look as pretty and clear as the day we put them on. The Ultimate Back to School Combo isn’t cheap… the whole set is $42 (shipping is free!), but it includes enough labels to get through a couple of years of school, so it’s a pretty good deal in the long run.
In addition to the back-to-school sets, Mabel’s Labels has sets for sports gear (I might have to get Big Guy some for his hockey stuff!), food allergies, spice jars, and even your recycling bin and trash can. They also do fundraisers.

I’d label all the food/lunch/snack containers, of which we have a million. I like the personalized sticky labels w/ the frog, but my kids would have some input. :)
My daughter just started preschool and we need to label everything… her clothes, backpack, etc. I’d love to have the Tag Mates Stick-on Clothing Labels so we can avoid losing anything!
