iVillage PBS KIDS Summer Reading Challenge

P1110530I’ve always loved to read and my kids love when I read to them. Bug is starting to read independently and LadyBug will start learning in earnest when she starts Kindergarten this fall. So far, we are lucky that our kids love reading. But not every family is as lucky and even if you are, it’s not always easy to think up fun activities that help foster that love. That’s where iVillage and PBS KIDS come in with the summer reading challenge. You can sign up to receive daily “assignments” for crafts and games that encourage kids to read. They’re also offering book discounts, free PBS KIDS TV show downloads, and a chance to win $1,000 each day.

So, I’m late in telling you about it, so you should go and sign up right now. You don’t want to miss any of the great lessons yet to come. You can sign up on iVillage.

iVillage, Scholastic and PBS KIDS sent a a great kick-off gift pack with books, stickers, notebooks, pencils, and activities. We shared them with the guests at LadyBug’s birthday party who were all very excited to get so many fun goodies as we head into summer vacation. I hope we inspired some of them to read more this summer, too!

Disclosure: We received a gift pack of the items mentioned above. There was no additional compensation and the opinions contained in this post are my own.

  1. I love PBS Kids because these kind of programs help to improve kid´s education, even parents could learn pedagogic programs that PBS Kids are using. Thank you for your post!
