The Verizon Foundation has just announced the 2015 Innovative App Challenge. Middle and high school students are invited to form teams of 5-7 students with a faculty advisor and to dream up an app concept in one of three areas: Education, Healthcare, or Sustainability. Teams will submit their concepts online via video and essay questions. Twenty-four regional winning schools will receive $5,000 cash grants, plus support in making their apps a reality. Of those schools, 8 will win the top prize of an additional $15,000 cash grant and Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets for each of the students.
