I tested out the iPad 2 Vario-SC Theater-Stand. The kick stand in the back snaps firmly into 11 different angles and is mounted on a 360-degree rotating disk. This held my iPad perfectly for watching a movie, and then just as perfectly for playing a game where I’m tapping on the screen. I could swivel it around for reading a book or magazine in portrait mode in no time at all. The kick-stand is sturdy enough to hold your iPad for demonstrating in public, as well. Nifty, right?
The iPad 2 Theater Stand is designed to work with your Apple Smart-Cover. I didn’t end up buying one because I wanted full coverage for my iPad, but this is a really nice option for those who started out with the Smart-Cover. It snaps onto the back and feels secure once attached. I wasn’t at all worried about my iPad falling out. The back is mostly rubberized and will provide some protection for the corners of your iPad as well. It’s also a lot easier to hold onto than just the slick iPad tablet on its own.
The Vario-SC comes in black and white and retails for $49.99. I give this case a big thumb’s up, especially in cooperation with a Smart-Cover.
Disclosure: We received a Vario-SC case for review purposes. There was no promise of a positive review and the opinions contained in this post are my own.
