I’ve mentioned a few times that LadyBug loves the trapeze, but now both of my kids are taking circus classes. LadyBug is into the tricks, especially silks, trapeze, and stilts. Bug prefers the clowning, but now has taken to the silks as well. What I love is that with two vastly different personalities and skill sets, they’ve found an activity that they can enjoy together. The other day I recorded a special on the Big Apple Circus and they were both captivated. I have never seen the circus in person, but I fell in love after viewing the PBS mini-series “Circus.” I like the intimacy of it, and the fact they they highlight some very classic circus arts.
The Big Apple Circus comes to Boston each year and we are so excited to be attending this year. The aptly-named METAMORPHOSIS will transform City Hall Plaza from March 24-May 10. Attendees will enjoy trapeze, rolla-bolla, diablo, contortionists, clever dogs, horses, and camels, and of, course entertaining clowns. Don’t know what some of that is? All the more reason to head to the circus and find out. One of the best parts of the Big Apple Circus is that you’re never more than 50 feet from the action. You can actually see the performers’ facial expressions and costumes.

Acrobats of course!
The trapeze! My husband is leaving for a long trip the night before. Would be amazing to take the kids and take their mind off of his leaving!
