Lenovo Horizon 2 Table PC Brings Families Together to Play and Share
Years ago, I spent a few hours in a hotel lobby with friends playing on an interactive table top. It could play music and games, and we enjoyed all being able to use it together. Lenovo’s Horizon 2 Table PC brings that experience into your home with some really cool features that you can enjoy on your own, or as a family. As part of the Lenovo Moms program, I had a chance to tour their latest offerings while at the Consumer Electronics Show this year and got a little more information about their newest Table PC.
This follow-up to the the previous Horizon works as an all-in-one PC with impressive specs. On the high end, it’s got a 4th gen Intel Core i7 pricessors NVIDIA GeForce graphics, 7GB RAM, and 500GB SSHD storage. You’ll find all the other important bells and whistles, too: USB 3.0 ports, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi (BGN and AC), NFC, and HDMI in. At 27 inches, it comes with full HD touch-screen or a QHD (2560×1440) touch-screen.
That’s all great, but it’s what it can do that makes it extra special. With the built-in Aura interface, multiple users can play, create, and explore together. It even comes with a set of accessories for making multi-player gaming more fun.
While at CES this year, I got a demo of some of the great features of this table PC and I captured some video to share with you. This first video shows the basics of how the Aura touch controls work. You can open pictures, music, and video, and arrange them on the screen.
This is ideal for those of us who like visual organization, but it’s also great for those who listen to music while they work or have a lot of projects going at once.
For the mobile photographers and videographers out there, you can quickly and easily pair your device with the Horizon 2 for copying/editing/uploading content, or even for sharing between devices.
And then this is just plain fun. Want to copy your pictures from your phone to your PC? Just shake them out!
The Table PC has plenty of games available, including the ever popular air hockey. We even played a four-person adventure game together. What a nice way for some family time around the PC! My friend Sarah of Technology for Moms posted this adorable video of her kids playing hockey on the original Horizon.
The Lenovo Horizon 2 Table PC isn’t available just yet, but it’s going to be a great option for families who want a PC, but also want social time together. With Dolby speakers, you can even watch all of your favorite movie and TV shows on it. That’s lots of fun packed into a 19.5mm thick frame! I’ll admit it, I want one. I had fun playing around with it, but never got a chance to play air hockey. Next time, that’s first on my list!
Disclosure: I received a review unit as well as compensation as part of my involvement with the Lenovo Moms campaign through Techlicious. There was no promise of a positive review and the opinions are my own.
